what is sports massage therapy?
Sports massage therapy is a specialised form of massage aimed at enhancing physical performance, preventing injuries, and aiding in recovery. It employs techniques such as deep tissue manipulation, stretching, and pressure point therapy to target specific muscle groups, alleviating pain and tension.
Concentrating on muscle groups that are overused or stressed, our therapists aim to address your unique needs, whether they are athletic-based or focused on improving day-to-day living.

Why Choose Sports Massage Therapy?

personalised care
No two bodies or cases are the same—your treatment is tailored to what you need, whether that’s deep tissue work, gentle recovery, or something in between.
Proactive care
Sports massage can be part of a regular routine to prevent injuries by identifying and easing tight areas before they turn into bigger issues.
performance enhancement
Whether you're training for a marathon or just want to move better in daily life, sports massage can help improve mobility, reduce fatigue, and boost overall performance.
injury recovery
Pain from an injury can linger long after the moment has passed. Sports massage helps break that cycle by encouraging healing, restoring movement, and easing discomfort.
Muscle rehabilitation
Massage isn’t a replacement for rehab—it’s a powerful partner. Together with strengthening and mobility work, it helps muscles recover, relearn, and perform better.
stress relief
Stress doesn’t just live in your mind—it builds up in your body. Massage helps calm the nervous system, ease tension, and give both body and mind space to reset.

Loose fittings shorts and a T-shirt is ideal. During the session, you may be asked to remove clothing, but only for the areas being looked at / worked on.
will it hurt?
Many clients are pleasantly surprised by how manageable the treatment feels. While some areas might feel tender, effective treatment doesn’t have to be painful. We’ll tailor the massage to your comfort.

There are various reasons a massage may not be appropriate. However these will be outlined in your pre-assessment form, If you are unsure, contact us via the form below.

sports massage treatments
We offer a wide range of sports massage treatments, you can find out more below.

Prevention
Massage is a useful tool to help maintain your muscles. Taking a proactive approach, by incorporating regular sessions into your routine, can result in improved circulation, flexibility and reduce the risk of injury.

Rehabilitation
Injury rehabilitation is a crucial aspect of the recovery process. Through targeted techniques and specialised treatments, we can help reduce inflammation, alleviate pain, improve range of motion, and promote healing in injured muscles.

Relaxation
If you have tension and stress but don't feel like it falls under an 'injury', our clinic can offer more relaxing treatments that focus on your specific requirements to reduce and relieve aches and pains from everyday life.
specialist treatments
We offer specialist treatments, catered to your bodies needs.

Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave therapy machines pass energy sound waves, travelling faster than the speed of sound, into affected tissues. This increases blood flow and stimulates an acute inflammatory response which aids the healing process and helps your injuries recover much faster. It is widely used in many settings and has been proven highly effective at providing fast pain relief and increased mobility alongside tissue healing.

Cupping Therapy
Myofascial Cupping is used alongside massage to help lift and separate the connective tissue surrounding a muscle. The suction created by the cups helps increase blood flow and break up adhesions to enhance mobility, making it especially effective for anyone dealing with stubborn knots and deep muscle tightness.
